Tuxedos

Finally.. another big accomplishment- the guys attire has been choosen.

Yes thats right, we got the tuxedo's picked out today-
The dad's have the 'classic' black tux, black tie, black vest.
The boy's will be wearing a black tux, a blue striped tie and a black vest.
Groom Adam will be wearing a black tux, cream or silver (still undecided) tie and a black vest.

I attached a picture below of the tux (pay no attention to the vest/tie) but this is the exact tux we will be using- a 2 button Kenneth Cole tux from Men's Warehouse.

Adam tried on a jacket/shoes etc. while I sat and filed out the paper work (woohoo).. but let me just say, wow... he looked great in the jacket- I cant wait to see just how amazing he'll look the day of! And lucky for him, the tux place even carrier wide-shoes for my flat-footed fiance!

Hello Hairclip!

Woo-hoo my hair clip for the wedding came in from Australia today!!!

Every day that goes by I get more and more excited about our upcoming wedding- and today the hair clip coming in is just icing on the cake.. its gorgeous and even prettier than I expected it to be. Plus, how cool is it to have such a pretty piece come in all the way from Australia for the wedding? Its definitely a keep-sake piece.

Time To Start Again

So I realize we are 4 and a half months out from the wedding... tons of things are happening and maybe, juat maybe it is time to start keeping this blog up to date.

We officially changed or rather made an official decision on our colors for the big day! We are looking at navy blue and silver..

Although our blue is technically navy, dresses in navy looked too much like black, so our bridesmaid dresses are a darker blue color, but they are definitely NOT navy.. all the girls are amazing and they have their dresses ordered and all the bridesmaid dresses should be coming in the first week of December!

So with much to-do I give you the dress of the event:

The rest of the atire is up to the girls... I requested silver shoes, but other than that I don't care what they do.. whatever jewelry they want etc. We are all getting our hair done the day of, but again they have the choice in style etc. I'm sure they will all look amazing!

I'm getting really excited and I am FINALLY back in wedding mode... (thanks to being a bridesmaid in Alex's wedding!)...

Paper Week: Entry One: Save the Date Ideas

Its Day One of PAPER WEEK!!!!

As you all may recall wedding planning is stalled until we officially sign the contract with our ceremony/reception location. So until then I am doing themed weeks. This Week is Paper Week, Ill show all sorts of fun wedding paper products from around the web!

Today is Save the Dates

Save the date nautical puzzle from brides.com

Save the date scratch off ticket and save the date colorful magnet both from brides.com

I personally love the mini calendar and picture of the couple. Both of these pictured are postcard save the dates.

An adorable save the date card.. They used engagement photos both on the outside and inside of the card. The second image is another simple save the date postcard.

What a cute way to use your engagement photo session!

I found this on etsy.com, they are boarding pass save the dates. We had thought about doing save the dates like this when we were considering having our wedding in the Caymans! The boarding passes are very real with proliferation's and all! What a cute way to tell your guests they'll be traveling!!
Stay turned tomorrow for the latest edition of paper week! Tomorrow is invitations!

Superbowl 43..
Arizona Cardinals
vs.
Pittsburgh Steelers

The Cardinals have never been to the superbowl..
The Steelers have won five.. if the Steelers win today it will be their 6th Superbowl win.. meaning they will become the first team to have won 6 Superbowls.

So let me just say, I hope today is the day for that 6th Superbowl Win

GO STEELERS

Happy Superbowl Day.

Registering Experience

Registering is quite an experience..

We keep getting the where are you registered questions, so we felt like we needed to be able to answer them!
So, since I got off early today (finally!) we went to Houston and registered for our china.. Adam and I have absolutely fallen in love with our china! Im actually surprised that #1 we were able to find something we liked at all #2 how interested/happy Adam was to find something he really liked. We ended up going for the NORITAKE "PLATINUM WAVE". Very pretty. (If i do say so myself.) Adam and I each picked out our favorite things we have so far... and Im going to share those.
This is a 16 bottle wine cellar by Cuisinart that we registered for at Crate and Barrel. This is one of Adams top favorites because we tend to drink alot of wine with just about everything in our house.
This is number two on Adam's list. It is a bedside carafe. It actually is something that you fill with water/some sort of drink and it has a cup on the top covering up the liquid. He is partial to this because we have a cat that likes to drink out of glasses if you set them down anywhere in the house. This is perfect to have, pour what you need, drink and recover. We also registered for this at Crate and Barrel.
These are a mutual favorite. We only registered for two of them. They are part of the Waterford Crystal collection. We actually registered for these in the hopes that we will have them to use for toasting/cake cutting at our reception. The blue Sapphire goes perfect with the colors we have chosen and I personally love Waterford!

This is the china we registered for! We registered for this today at Macys: 12 place settings! I am hoping that I will get to put it to use for many years to come. I never thought I would be excited about china, but the thought of actually getting to cook at Thanksgiving or X-mas dinner with all of our family really excites me.

This is one of my random favorite things: flare mango wood salad bowl with servers. Its also from Crate and Barrel. I am salad obsessed and I am always so upset that we don't really have anything to put a 'big' dinner salad into.. well, I saw this and fell in love..
Currently we are registered at Target, Crate and Barrel and Macys.. we may try and add one more place as time gets alot closer (maybe home depot or something).. but for right now I think we have PLENTY on our registries. We are trying to wait for a while to look at anything bedroom or bathroom related because we want to get a good idea of colors etc. before we go seeking out that stuff.
Basically, registering has been a really fun and worthwhile experience. Adam has been able to run-a-muck around the stores beeping until his heart is content and we have gotten to spend time together envisioning what we would like our home to look like!
*On a side note: I decided that my 'theme' for this coming week is going to be all things paper.. invitations, menus, programs, save the dates etc. I'll be updating with all sorts of fun photos as I have time!

Fun Ideas

Dun Dun Dun...
PRESENTING
Adam & Ashleys Wedding Website (Please be aware its totally incomplete but go ahead and look anyways!)

The updates are lacking for a few reasons, I began my internship Monday and have been spending all sorts of time at the hospital working. Plus, we really have not decided anything else.

We definitely know where we want to have our wedding ceremony and reception, but we have to be patient with that- in fact, although we have our date reserved nothing will be 100% official for another month and a half... me being the horribly inpatient one HATES this.. but, we have so much time and we have already completed so much.

So yet again Im just going to post some cool ideas we like :)

We are totally unsure of anything monogramed but we do like the shape of this "S"

I kind of like these wedding invitations... change the black to navy blue?
We really like simple cakes... although we both really hate the orange, we love the way the cake looks!! (No offense, but neither of us are orange people.. it would clash with my hair!)
I just thought this was cute/fun.

Im thinking because we wont be deciding anything new for a while that I might start doing 'themed weeks' with our favorite ideas for flowers, cakes, invitations, grooms wear, bridal party outfits etc. Maybe Ill start on Saturday or Sunday.. any thoughts on what 'theme' I should have first?

New Website & Fun Places around the web

So we are beginning to put our wedding website together! YAY! Its completely and totally 100% NOT finished, but we have at least started.
Next, not only am I lucky enough to be planning my own wedding, but I was asked last night to be a bridesmaid in a wedding for my friend Alex, whom I have know since I was about 6 months old! Needless to say I am very very excited!! She'll be getting married on October 17 in the Ye Kendall Inn.
That leads me to our own bridal party.. Adam and I have been hesitant about choosing our bridal party because first we were going to the Caymans and we wanted it to be very small, and now we are having it in Austin, but we didnt have a place for a while. Now that we have a place and have things decided we need to figure out exactly who we would like to have standing up with us on our wedding day. So, as soon as we get our contract signed and a date officially chosen I think we will finish asking our bridal party!

I don't have much to update with today, so I am going to leave you with my 'favorite' things from the web this week!

I just think the idea of having an individual cake at every table is cute.. this one is covered in sugar carnations. Theknot.com
Im opposed to wearing white shoes down the aisle thats why these are perfect! Ann Taylor shoes!
First off I love the motif on these envelopes, even better, this website give you directions on how to do it! Check out http://www.chattybrides.com/index.cfm?postID=830
I want to put maps in my invitations, I dont know if Ill make them or if I will have someone do them for me.. but these are adorable. Laura Hooper Maps http://lhcalligraphy.com/
